[LUNI] Cable Modem

Slashdot has posted a cnet story stating that excite at home may "cease providing service" on friday.

Does anybody have any further information on how that affects local AT&T broadband customers. I was recently forced to migrate from the old MediaOne system to @home, but I don't know if this will affect network connectivity, or just the loss of pop/smtp/http services.

If its only mail services, no sweat, but if I lose connectivity, I'm up a tree...
