I'm trying to help someone upgrade their laptop from redhat 6.2 to redhat
7.2. It's a Toshiba 320CT, the floppy drive is broken and the cd-rom
doesn't want to boot anymore. The BIOS doesn't support booting from the
network. I was thinking that maybe lilo could be configured to boot an
"emergency boot disk" that's on the hard drive. Then from there manually
upgrade the rpm's to redhat 7.2. Has anyone tried anything like this
before?
