Um, because I sort of tried to explain marketing to him [Stallman],
back when I was a contractor at IBM in late 1998? (For which I would
like to apologize to the community at large. I MEANT well...)
At least he stopped telling people not to use the word "Linux" at all
for the name of the OS...
Can't wait to see if there's a rebuttal. Then again, maybe I can. I
prefer to respect Stallman for the good works he has done, and that can
be really hard when he goes off into rant'n'roll mode. :-(
If I had charged one dollar for Samba, it would have never been successful.
The way I was doing stuff was not about money, and I am not at all resentful
of companies that have made money from Samba. At the same time, if they all
went away, we would still have a great community to work on stuff. I think
of the last year or two as being the biggest private investment in public
