The WPC11 card is notorious for having poor range. I had the WAP11/WPC11
combo and couldn't go more than 30 feet away (LOS) without loosing
significant signal.
My recommendation would be to get rid of the WPC11 and get a
Orinoco/Lucent/Agere gold card (or a card based on the same chipset). This
card has wonderful range.
