Yes, but doing it through LPR only works if you're printing plain text.
Most likely you're printing what is, to the spooler, magic goop (read:
postscript). At that level there's no easy way to attach such
information, and the original filename probably isn't anywhere handy
anyway. The cost of giving the application full control over page
rendering is that attaching the original file name, etc, becomes a job
for the application.
