grep dhclient /var/log/messages

Also, make sure you don't have a firewall that's blocking port 68. On a
command prompt, disable the firewall temporarily by doing

/sbin/iptables -I INPUT -J ACCEPT
/sbin/iptables -I OUTPUT -J ACCEPT

Then run

/etc/init.d/services restart
