check out trust commerce, they're an e-commerce "gateway".  they deal
with all the big merchant banks and as long as you have a merchant
account they're all you need.  there software is open-source too.  they
have a c library, a php module, and support for perl.  they probably
support more too, but i've only ever needed php.
