I think I'll give it a try.

#Apt-get install cups hpijs etc
Apt:  x packages installed; y packages removed
nnnn/nnnn kB to retrieve, ii.i MB will be removed after installation
Continue (Y/n)?

Oh yeah, the home LAN, that has been on the list right behind resolving the
printer difficulties for some time now.
