[Luni]-understanding the Linux/SCO court caseSteve Johnson steve at webninja.comThu Jun 5 13:04:39 CDT 2003
I agree, but what I mean by drive and ability is that, Linux != open-source, nor the only open-source tool for folks like us. Worst case senario, They do find Unix code in Linux, Linus goes to court, fights to get back all the non-unix source within Linux, which would still amount to at least 95% of it. Then over a couple months the community pitches in and finishes it back up. If it can't be called Linux, we call it something else. Whatever happens, my point is, the idea of Linux and Open-Source will not die. And most companies I know and have worked for, partially because I haven't had the pleasure, or pain of working for large corporations, don't care about this, and will continue to support open-souce, from which ever direction it goes. Mainly because they can't afford anything else. And they're not the kind of folks to let this get in their way of doing business! Open-source is not going anywhere, and hopefully Linux too. - steve On Thu, 2003-06-05 at 11:36, ed-luni at inkdroid.org wrote: > On Thu, Jun 05, 2003 at 11:29:34AM -0500, Steve Johnson wrote: > > This guy obviously has spent all of his time in the board room!
