	I should have qualified my disrespect for HP/Compact machines.  I
have only had to deal with their desktop horrors and have no evidence to
judge the Servers.  I have actually heard some very good things about both
HP and Compaqs server systems, and very good things about older HP unix
servers.

I would overall agree with your statements. If you have the money, get a
dell laptop (though the newest systems dont seem as sturdy as the old
ones - this is entirely subjective).

I have been quite pleased with most of the Desktops we have gotten
from Dell, and I like their Customer Service as well.  About the only
thing I would rate higher is systems from a good custom builder like the
Pritchards (Finding a _good_ Custom builder is the problem of course) But
if I was going to roll out 500 identical desktops I would still go w/
Dell.  Now if only Dell would put out a line of Dual Athlons/Opterons ;)
