SBC = Southwest Bell, you are insulting Bell South.
Ameritech sold out to SBC, who already had a big interest in Cellular One.  FCC 
wouldn't let them keep both Wireline licences in the area so they sold Ameritech 
Cellular to General Telephone who was shortly thereafter sucked up by Verizon.

That's the way I remember it anyway.
