Sunday 29th is Camera Day, so be it, (I had been hoping for National Lasagna Day, but that's next
month) so get your camera and come on down to Linuxfest. Anyone interested in modelling come along
too, because we sure don't want to be in front of the camera. Lets discover the quality of
modelling we can get for donuts. Please use one of the empty classrooms for any candid shots you
feel the need to take.
For those that complain these mailouts lack details, I'll remind you there is a link at the end of
the message, that points to the website, that has a link, that points to directions. Clear?
This month we remind anyone who has a modem 28.8 or above that is surplus to requirements to bring
it in, we'll send it on to the Peoples Computer Resource Centre (http://www.peoplesrc.org) NB
they're no longer using just Linux, so winmodems are OK too.
The Place: the Berg Instructional Center, opposite where the computer show is, look for the
penguin signs, or find rooms 2061 and 2063.
The Time: 10am - 3pm of course we have to set stuff up, so we may not be firing on all cylinders
until 10.30 or so, depending on who gets out their bed in time.
The Point: To cure your linux ills, to bring joy to all, and to go eat food afterwards
Note for those who are bringing their computers, rather than just hanging out, you can drive right
up to the backdoor of the Berg IC to unload your equipment, it's a lot easier. Just enter the
college of 22nd Street. DO NOT PARK your car here or you will get ticketed / towed, but they seem
to tolerate loading and unloading.
Of course, if you just want to hang out with people who actually get the 'How many windows users
does it take to change a lightbulb' joke, thats fine too, we seem to spend swathes of time just
sitting around and chewing the penguin fat.
Remember we have bathrooms, we have vending machines with candy, soda, coffee, and a comfy seating
area.
