Find the manufacturer and model of your motherboard, and google for bios
updates. The actual update process on the one machine I did in the past
involved making a boot floppy with the BIOS update and rebooting with that
floppy (you do not want any interruptions while this is going on...).

Subject: [LUNI] LILO problems - machine doesn't boot from hard disk after
LILO installation

I bought an old machine (Pentium 200MHz) to install IPCop on it.
The LILO installation does not seem to work - actually it seems to
install, but then it does not boot at all. I know that LILO is supposed
to print the four letters 'LILO' and depending on how many of these
letters are printed - that tells me something (which I haven't looked
up yet because I don't get any output at all).

I think the next step should probably be looking into upgrading the BIOS
of that motherboard. Does that make sense?

And any suggestions of how to upgrade the BIOS? Meaning where
do I get the newest version of the BIOS from?

Thanks.
