Hi:
Is it possible that it is a LinkSys Router and not ONLY Access Point?
What is the model number of LinkSys?

Subject: [LUNI] Problem with Linksys Wireless-B

Hi All,
This is slightly OT but I recently purchased a laptop with a 802.11b
card
and a Linksys Wireless-B access point. Now I've got the AP setup so from
my laptop I can get to the AP across the wireless (meaning I can get to
the AP's internal setup web page). However I cannot get to anything else
on the wired network.

The AP is connected to my hub (which is an older Intel InBusiness 8 Port
10Mbit hub) and there are 3 other computers on the hub as well. One
Windows,
one FreeBSD and one Linux. These 3 computers have no trouble
communicating
with each other.

Here are the symptoms:

1. Using tcpdump I can see data from the wireless laptop show up on the
wired network. If I ping something I at least see the ARP requests but
the responses never seem to make it back to the wireless laptop.
2. Any time there's traffic on the wired network the "Link" light on the
AP goes out.
3. The wireless laptop can communicate with the AP but can communicate
with
nothing on the wired network.
4. No computer on the wired network can even ping the AP.

My first inclination is to get a new hub but does this make sense to do
so? This sounds like a configuration mismatch like the AP wants to run
full duplex but the other NICs on the wired network do not. Any
suggestions before I start throwing money at the problem?

Thanks,

Ben
