[LUNI] debian??

Here is why I like Debian. 1. Good reputation for noncommercial
distribution (lots of other distributions are based on debian). 2. Runs well on older
hardware. 3. Apt-get is easy to use for installing packages and security
updates. 4. Debian stable has been steadily supported.
That said, there are a lot of quirks to Debian. If you downloaded and
installed from CD images, you must boot from CD-5 to get the 2.4 kernel and ext-3
during the install. Once you install, you must upgrade from the boot floppy
(their name for the CDs) kernel. Installing debian is just like the old days
(pre RedHat 6). You need to know your hardware and the kernel drivers to
install. Once you get used to this, you have a nice stable system that's easy to
update, runs well, and is a lot like Redhat 7.3 (familiar and still supported).
