[LUNI] Is this the beginning of the end of slashdottings?

Right now it's real obvious at what moment the article about Coral went
up on slashdot (about 8:00 this evening, which shows as 1AM the 29th in
their traffic stats because they're labeled in GMT).

Peaking under 1200 hits/5 minutes doesn't sound like a proper
slashdotting - guess not everyone's at the their desks. What do they
think this is, Saturday evening? :-)

Coral is one of those ideas that make you say "D'oh! Why didn't
someone think of this years ago?" A P2P (sort of) approach to web
caching. It's weird and cool and... well, if it were to catch on it
just could get to be hard to slashdot any site that doesn't beg for it
by marking everything "don't cache". Or not. Time will tell. Here,
kill a little bit of time and see what this is all about:

Then start coralizing your favorite overloaded web sites. Then if two
people, two people do it, in harmony ...

at first, it's warm and comfy, but pretty soon it gets cold
and then it starts to stink. - anonymous, as is traditional
