[LUNI] loading linux on a tivo box

You don't need to spend anywhere near that much for a
system that'll run MythTV well. A shuttle PC for
around $450 or so will do just fine. I know it's more
than a used Tivo, but you can do so much more with
it... in fact, if you already have a P-III 700 or up,
you could just spend $125 or so for a decent video
card/tuner.

The more horsepower you have, the more MythTV can do.
A P4 1.4GHz with 512MB should be the minimum
requirement to record one station and watch something
that's been recorded. Add a second tuner card, and
record 2 things at once.

It isn't an easy thing to build a MythTV, but it's not
impossible either. Most people I know that have tried
spend most of their time getting MythTV to work with
the video card. But, if you stick to components known
to work, it shouldn't be too painful.
