[LUNI] Cheap dedicated (uml) Linux server

I've got a dedicated server that I've divided into four user mode
linux machines and I'm looking for a few local users who want to split
the cost of the server -- $20/mo per person. You basically get your
own dedicated server (root and all), trading off CPU sharing for a big
cost break over a dedicated server, and I'm not loading this machine
down with users like the commercial uml services so response time
stays snappy.

If you're unfamiliar with user mode linux, this means that each is a
virtual Linux machine with full root access, its own process lists,
device nodes, et cetera. If you don't look at /proc/version or the
lack of a /boot, you wouldn't even know you weren't on a native
server. This is much like running four VMWare machines, but more
efficient overall and better for non-GUI systems. I've been running
like this for about a year and a half and it's been very stable.

The host machine is a Celeron 700 with 1g RAM. The server is located
at Cyberwurx.com and has bandwidth from Level 3, BTN and WV Fiber, as
well as peering agreements with Global NAPs, Epik, GA Tech, PeachNet,
Great Access, US Carrier, and CET Networks. Bandwidth quality is
*very* good.

If you want to gauge speed, feel free to poke at some of the sites
users are sharing from my quarter of the machine:
http://www.jaynaylor.com - artist hosting a comic here
http://www.eacosta.com - artist hosting his portfolio here
http://www.zombiehand.com - web designers
http://www.storyhour.org - spoken blog with some big mp3s
http://www.windwhip.net - I sell friends cheap shell accounts

Each of the four virtual machines has root access, its own IP, 10g
disk space, 50g/month transfer, 256m RAM and 256m swap. You're free to
run anything on it, except for p2p file sharing networks and ircd.
You're welcome to use it to resell shell accounts and web hosting if
you're extremely careful not to pick up spammers.

Each person's share of costs is $20/month with a Paypal subscription,
and I can set you up with a Debian stable image and 2.4.27-1um for the
kernel pretty quickly. I can manage most other Linuxes in an afternoon
or so.
