Using Linux in the Enterprise
Tim Kresler and Jim Moyta
Novell
Tuesday, November 30th, 2004, 7:00-9:00pm
Illinois Institute of Technology, Rice Campus, Wheaton, IL, Room 103
Abstract
--------
Novell, a long standing leader in Local Area Networking, has now taken
up the Linux banner. With their recent acquisitions of Ximian and SUSE,
they are now the largest company with a Linux distribution. With several
of their recent releases, they are the only Linux distributor offering
the new 2.6 kernel, both in an Enterprise Server and an Enterprise
Desktop. Soon, they'll be combining Linux and NetWare in a new offering
called Open Enterprise Server. In this talk, we'll examine these new
releases of Linux and the impact they're having as organizations are
moving to them.
Speaker Bio
-----------
Tim Kresler and Jim Moyta with Novell, represent a combined 30+ years IT
experience, as vendors and as customers, consultant and manager. Currently,
they're working with customers and partners, large and small, throughout
Illinois and Wisconsin, to plan their moves to Linux.
