[LUNI] Youth Instructor position opening

The department of Community Technology Programs at Korean American
Community Services, is looking for a computer instructor with some
program coordinator responsibilities. Instruction duties include
teaching A+ skills (computer hardware, etc) to at risk youth ages 14-21
in the Youth Community Technology Program (75% of position), teaching A+
and N+ skills to adult clients, curriculum development and planning, and
volunteer management. Comfort with Open Source technology necessary. 

1.The ideal candidate will have had prior experience teaching the A+ and
N+ curriculum. Just as important will be your interest in working with
youth and job seeking adults; your ability to be flexible, funny, and
comfortable teaching people with little or no technical background, and
your dedication to serving people of all ethnic backgrounds will set you
apart. An ability to describe technical concepts in plainly
understandable terms and hands on training is emphasized in this
program. 

2. Duties include instruction and some management of our community
technology center. The successful candidate will be highly organized and
someone who enjoys working in a team environment to accomplish goals.
Candidates should be able to communicate with people in a
non-confrontational, positive, and supportive way. 

3. Other duties as assigned. 

Schedule: 37.5 hours per week, times vary according to need. 

Additional Qualifications:
Candidates with additional certifications and experience with youth are
especially desirable. Bi-lingual English/Spanish also a plus, but not
necessary.
