I'm looking into getting a wireless PCMCIA card for my laptop. Are
there any cautioning statements, bits of advice, or hints that can be
offered?
The one I'm currently looking at (in part because of convenience and a
good deal) is an Airlink AWLC3025 802.11g with a Texas Instruments
chipset with 32-bit cardbus interface. I've done almost zero with my
PCMCIA slot on this laptop (Thinkpad 650X running Debian Testing), or on
any other laptop for that matter -- I've just been running a generic
10baseT ethernet card on the thing thus far.
I can only assume that TI chipset is the ACX100, as I'm not aware of any
other Texas Instruments chipsets for wireless networking. Does anyone
else here have any information about TI chipsets that might be relevant?
