I'm not sure if such results are even remotely relevant. Having
supported Red Hat users on both cups and LPRng for local printing, I
would take cups in a New York minute.
Now, if you configure the network printer using the
system-config-printer tool on the FC3 machine, does it then work?
If not, you should open this as a bugzilla. I know for a fact that the
cups maintainer is interested in making sure that documented features
work correctly.
