Just my two cents.

Ditto on Hylafax - lots of features.

Time to setup:
I recently setup a Hylafax server primarily for incoming faxes to be
emailed (pdf) to a reception type who hand sorts them. I would
categorize myself as a somewhere between a newbie and a poweruser. It
was relatively easy to setup a fax server (incoming) as compared to
compiling kernel/modules/samba etc.
Email me if you need details: basically -I used Ubuntu Breezy - server
install + hylafax
You can also have it simultaneously print to a printer - our setup.

Inward Routing:
You can also sort faxes by calling number.

Outbound / old machine (the paper jammer that prompted hylafax):
We use it on a shared low use voice line.
You can use SalsaFax for 'print to fax' with samba, will also take bunch
of documents to fax number or one print job to one or more fax numbers.

I have not had to 'admin' for several weeks. Reception type very happy
receiving pdf emails! and log reports.
