At the computer show @ COD, used 10/100 PCMCIA NICs used to go for about
$10-15.  I have a 3Com 10/100 card and I am satisfied with it.  I don't
know where such shows have shifted.  You could also try your luck on
eBay and Craigslist.   USB NIC is another option if your laptop has USB
ports.  I had a SMC USB NIC that is supported in Linux.
