Additionally, if Spanning Tree Protocol is in use and STP PortFast is not 
enabled, it will take about 50 seconds before the port reaches Forwarding 
state, I've seen this bite people (particularly kickstart installs that 
boot and try to access the network while port is not yet in Forwarding 
state).
