One of my family members that has kids reaching "that age," just brought up
that they notice their kids starting to behave uncomfortable when the kids
where in front of the computer and they - the parents - happened to show up
in the room.
After "interrogating" the kids and the suspicious behavior did not stopped,
he decided to install key-loggers. What they found just left them
astonished. I will not go into the details but suffice to say that we had a
two hour long conversation on the whole topic. Kids, parenting, and the
Internet are three very difficult things to combine, and any tool that makes
that easier in my book is welcome!
Regardless, I'm not sure Ubuntu CE 's porpoise is just that. It seems to
me the author figured that there is a niche market for this kind of distro
and he might be trying to make a name for himself in both camps: will see
if he succeeds.

of open source and free software
