[LUNI] Weird Sound behavior

Does the laptop have a built in microphone?  You probably just need to
turn down the mic volume.

	    I am running Centos on and old Dell Latitude.  I recently
plugged in audio speakers to test some sound files.  Now when I unplug
the speakers I hear a loud screeching sound from the laptop that will
not stop unless I plug the speakers back in.  It even continues if I
reboot the machine.  Anyone know what this could be?
