I use nVidia's driver. The last time I looked, the open source driver just
wasn't ready for 3D acceleration, which I make use of from time to time. I'm
not really concerned with the Open Source vs Closed Source debate (and I'm
not trying to start one here). I just want my computer to work and work
well.
This link has a work around for this bug if you're using nVidia's driver.

of X's remote session capabilities, (i.e. they're disabled), then you don't
have to worry about it. Another option would be to block those ports at your
firewall.
