Here's my latest problem and I was hoping someone had an idea.
My Linux network has a main Disk Array that hold the /home partitions
of most clients shared via NFS.
Which works great for most purposes, here is where I'm having a problem.
I have a cluster doing NAT on the head node. the nodes can access the
internet can get to the Disk Array but they can't mount the NFS
partition since it's seen as already mounted on the head node. I
tried sharing the data on the head node using NFS once more, but
client won't load it. sshfs wouldn't work either when I try mount the
headnode:/home to
node1:/home it mounts but any user, including root can't access any of
the sub folders of /home.
I'm going to try samba next, but from what I remember about samba, I
don't think it supports user permissions and file ownerships, or maybe
that was the case the last time I looked at it.
