Okay, I'm pretty sure this will work.  The 360G SATA drive in my system
is dying and it's under warranty.
I had WD cross-ship the RMA replacement.  To clone the data onto the new
drive, I'm thinking:

Move the old drive to SATA-1
Install the new drive as SATA-0
Boot from one of those CD-ROM distros
dd if=/dev/sdb of=/dev/sda
  I  think the SATA drives appear as SCSI, have to watch boot messages
Get a glass of wine
Remove STAT-1 and boot
Celebrate

Oh and probably run DBAN on the old drive before returning it so they
don't get my porn collection :-)
