[LUNI] GUI fails to start when restarting etch or ubuntu

Craig, can you explain what you want me to do after I break my X config?

Also, please be aware, if I do a cold boot, X works and I get my GUI.
I only have a problem when I "restart", i.e. the GNOME desktop is up
and I click on the "desktop"->shutdown->restart
