[LUNI] restore problem please help

mt -f /dev/nst0 fsf 2   was taking forever.  So after not being able to kill the prosses s with kill -9 pid, I repowered the tape drive.  Now I get:

/dev/nst0: device or resource busy   when I try to access the tape.

Does anyone know I can fix this without rebooting?
