[LUNI] Adaptec vs 3ware

Are you going to use on card Raid or just use it as a 4 port sata card?
I haven't used adaptec for several years since their raid management
tools were closed source (even thought the driver was in kernel) then.
If you are using this for software raid this should not be an issue.
Currently, I have a 3ware controller and can recommend them if get the
battery backup unit.  With no BBU performance can be a fair bit slower
than software raid.  I know a lot of linux users that swear by 3ware,
not the case with Adaptec.
