[LUNI] Adaptec vs 3ware

Avoid 3ware like the plague that it is. We used to use their controllers
here, and had odd problems with a drive not getting any where near the
transfer rate that it should after a raid failure caused us to insert
this drive into the array as a replacement for a failed drive. We called
3ware for support, and got this clown on the phone who wanted us to do
all the really basic trouble shooting that we had already done. We
explained that this is basically a Linux only shop, that we had done all
the basic trouble shooting he was asking us to do, and asked to speak to
2nd level. We were imperiously informed, "I AM the Linux support guru!"

We started buying whatever cards come in the Dell servers, and have
basically not looked back. We have no more 3ware cards in any of our
boxen.
