That last line makes me think the new package has a bad install
script, happens sometimes when using bleeding edge versions.
Try deleting the version you downloaded and try again encase the
download is corrupt.
You might be able to reinstall the old version if you still have the
.deb in /var/cache/apt/archives/.
dpkg -i /var/cache/apt/archives/opendchub_0.7.14-2ubuntu1
might have to use --force-overwrite if it complains.
Unless you are doing a dist-upgrade, then you need to wait for a new
version to come out and fix this bug. You could run report-bug and
report it.
