[LUNI] Ever heard of SimplyMEPIS Linux?

Actually, it is one of the features I like best about (K)Ubuntu.
It promotes good habits by making it a bit harder to just run as root,
though if you are determined enough there are always ways to shoot
yourself in the foot.
Plus having the root account disabled, should pretty much render
rootkits moot.
Or am I missing something here?
