Can't really say ... I never tried FC1 or FC2 ... I started with FC4.
I'm in the process of getting upgraded to FC6. My only problems so far
is that my media is screwed up. Might be my cdrom drive.

I'm usually able to find RPM's for most packages that I want to install.
Some packages I leave as manually installed (from tarball) though.
Mailman for one ... I don't want it to be upgraded unexpectedly.

Yum seems to be a pretty good job at resolving dependencies.
