Alright.. last email on the gentoo bit...

#gentoo is rarely gonna get you an answer.. besides.. I'd need a
filter to get through the 600 different conversation going in that
channel at the same time.  I tend to go to #gentoo-pub and #gentoo as
a last resort.

As far as gnome.. all session config is found in /etc/X11/Sessions/
just copy the gnome file to your user's home dir as .xinitrc   it'll
have configs for all your wm.

Anyways..... the point was that the doc was a good reference.

Now let's get back to helping fix his problem and enough flame wars on
distros.  Use what you're comfortable with.
