[LUNI] Linux Retailers, Distro

Dear Luni Folks,

I recently purchased one of those cheap refurbished machines at 
Microcenter. Naturally, I want to rip out Windows and replace it with 
Linux; however, I have a small problem: all of the distributions I have 
  in house are four years old, or older.

I know the machine is Linux-ready because I can boot Knoppix and run the 
usual web utilities without difficulty.

So, here's my question: What dealer in Chicago carries up-to-date Linux
distributions? And of those distributions, which would you recommend I get?
