Roberto,
I actually have a cousin in Italy named Roberto. Ciao, Roberto!
I run ClamAv on my personal computer only. I have heard I do not need
to run an anti-virus program, but I still do so out of habit.
I did this mainly as an exercise to understand how to compile from
source, and to learn how to work through configuration problems.
So....if anyone can help me figure out how to resolve the error messages
(see below), or point me in the right direction, that would be great.
If the solution is somewhat intuitive, I could probably figure it out
with just a little help.
Fred

Are you running this in a server, or are you tunning this in your
personal
computer. Clam AV is mostly a product design for a Linux Server working
in
a windows environment. As far as I know, Clam AV is mostly design to
detect
windows viruses.
I don't use anti-virus in any of me Linux computers - and Linux is the
only
thing I use. Most people I know, that use Linux, don't use anti-virus.
So if this is for personal use, I know is weird coming from windows, but
you
don't need anti-virus. You need a good backup strategy and that is all.
