IFS Drives at http://www.fs-driver.org.

I love this thing. Reliable, small, unobtrusive, integrated into
Windoze control panel.

The (removable) disks on my backup fileserver are formatted with a tiny
FAT partition containing just the installs for the IFS driver, and a
huge ext2/ext3 partition containing all the data. When I had to make an
emergency run to a different state for a week but needed access to all
the photos I have stored on the server, I just yanked one of the drives,
stuck a USB cable on it, and took it with me. Was able to use the IFS
driver to browse/read/write to the disk, and then slot the disk back
into the server when I got back home. (Synching changes was another story :)
