There's a project that you can install on Windows that will allow it to access 
EXT3 partitions without much problem.  However, I can't remember the name of 
it at the moment.

I've always prefered nVidia over ATI for Linux.  I have much better luck with 
nVidia then ATI when I want to use 3D (games).  For basic 2D, either one will 
work without much issues.
