I'll file that tip for future reference, thanks.
The problem as I see it would be the initial installation.
Maybe you could add the parameter to the bootable installation medium.
I was thinking how some servers are designed to run headless and have a
way to pipe low-level BIOS I/O to the serial port (INT10/16).
