Hello Andy,
The answer to your question is simply to have the developers use a REVISION CONTROL System, CVS or RCS or
some type of software control system that insures that the final "REV." is the one you're interested in deploying.  While at GE I was involved in just the same type of scenario.  Offshore developers, would work on GE PACs software
whereby they invoked a software revision control system, RCS, I think, to produce a final REVISION that I would ftp daily and create a bootable CD from an ISO image.  Worked perferctly.  I would suggest starting there first.
