very true.  but considering that i'm paying roughly $3.50 a month for
a leased CM, and you can buy a CM for ~$40 (although i paid ~$70 for
the Linksys); i've paid ~$126 so far for my leased modem (i've been a
Comcast customer for a little over 3 years).  so if you go with the
~$40 modem, you've paid for it three times.  i guess if you'd prefer
that when the CM goes out you schedule an appt and Comcast comes out
to replace it then maybe it's worth it.  if my CM goes out i want it
replaced immediately, or at least the next day.  good luck getting
Comcast out the next day. :)
