[LUNI] Cable / Dsl

Two reasons I have cable.
1. at&t (nee SBC, nee Ameritech). The only way to get their DSL is to
sign up for their ripoff landline.
2. speed. I get near T1 speeds with WOW. The best I can get with DSL is
IDSL (144KBps) because of how far I am from the CO.
I am not really unhappy with WOW, I just mentioned the rate sunset
because you have to keep your eye on the monthly statements. In all WOW
has a pretty good track record IMHO and the prices are competitive (as
much as a monopoly can be). WOW bought out the Ameritech network when
SBC bought them and wanted out of the CATV business. The wiring is
pretty new, so that may account for reliability. I also have a Comcast
box in my back yard and was considering signing up with them to get more
bandwidth and/or redundancy.
