Mine is because a Looong time ago, I had DSL and it got fried by
lightning.  It was going to take days to get it replaced, whereas Comcast
was able to come out the next day.  

Since then, I have never had a problem and I've moved from North Side to
South with no issues.  Plus, the speed has ALWAYS been a minimum of 3
times faster than my DSL connection ever was.  So for the most part, if
it aint broke...

The other big factors are cost and convenience.  We also have cable TV, and it was still
more cost-effective to go with a bundled plan.
