Hello Everyone,

Interested in Linux? Always wanted to install that distribution of Linux on
your machine, but never really found the place or the time? Want to learn
more?

On Saturday, October 6th, the LUG will be hosting their annual Install Fest!

Join us for help installing your favorite distribution of Linux, eat free
food, and enjoy talks about developing under linux, the future of KDE,
security, games on Linux, and more.

See the LUG Install Fest schedule at:

Fair warning, we provide no warranties that your computer will not
self-combust for some unknown reason, or that your data won't
be eaten away, or that lightning won't come through the window and target
your computer (as highly unlikely as that may be).
But if you do need technical assistance in installing Linux we'll be happy
to walk you through the process. Mostly doing Ubuntu
and Gentoo (per request ), if you'd like to use a different distribution,
please let us know in advance, and we'll be happy to have an
ISO of media available. If you plan on dual-booting, please make sure to
scandisk/defrag. it will most likely take the entire day to
defrag your 500GB hard drive, if you have a large drive, or even if you
don't, please scan/defrag it. It will avoid any potential errors,
and it should take less time to split your drive cleanly.

If I haven't scared anyone away yet, instructions and directions are on the
website as to how to get to us. Email me if you have any
questions at: sfaci2 at uic.edu . Oh yeah, we'll feed you too.

  Regards,
