Linus's Law according to Eric S. Raymond states that "given enough
eyeballs, all bugs are shallow". More formally: "Given a large enough
beta-tester and co-developer base, almost every problem will be
characterized quickly and the fix will be obvious to someone." The rule was
formulated and named by Eric S. Raymond in his essay "The Cathedral and the
Bazaar

NIH == Not Invented Here Its the tendency of people to reinvent wheels that
don't need reinvention only because they assume that 1) whatever they do
will be better or 2) it'll take too long to learn something that already
exists and does what I want.
That being said, there are some wheels that do need to be reinvented, but I
leave that to people like Brian Swetland who often gets in trouble for
reinventing said wheels.
