Broadcoms are notoriously bad under Linux. I have yet to get one to
work (I haven't and won't try the ndis wrapper though).
FYIL I tried to upgrade a broadcom wifi card on an HP to one well
supported under linux (intel). HP (and maybe other manufacturers) seems
to have bios locked wifi cards. The laptop will not boot if you put in
a "non-approved" (read non-HP) wifi card. Seems to be the latest
lock-in strategy. HP refuses to take the laptop back or to provide a
BIOS not locked. Needless to say I do not recommend HP laptops to
clients. Good luck and I hope yours is not this way.
