[LUNI] Firefox Freezes on Flash Animations

Over the holidays I installed "swfplayer" on my Compaq
laptop running Debian Etch. Ever since then, whenever
Iceweasel encounters a web page using flash, it locks
up and I must kill the process, restart the browser,
and then close the offending tab before it loads.

Has anyone seen this behavior with swfplayer, and is
there an alternative helper application to play
Macromedia Flash content in Firefox/Iceweasel?
